   • ANSWER:
     You have the legal right to cut off any boughs that over hang your property line but only up to the property line. If I were in your position, I'd tell this neighbor that I was going to do this and then do it. If you hire someone, get at least 3 estimates before deciding and then make sure you supervise them while they do it or else they might get 'creative'. This will prevent giving the neighbor anything to hold against you in court. The air space above your property, up to a certain altitude, is part of your property.

   Is there a spray to stop black walnuts from bearing nuts?
   We have a large black walnut which overshadows our patio. The nuts fall on the patio and discolors furniture, the patio and are dangerous to people on the patio. Is there a way to stop a black walnut from fruiting?

     yes there is a product specifically for this. You can find it at H.D or Lowe's. Its called fruit set or fruit stop..darn it I cant remember. I did a search under these names but came up with NOTHING but I assure you it is at either place I just saw it, and have seen it there before. call your local nursery also the point is there is a product out there.    Help...I just spilled a can of black hammered Rustoleum on my back patio!!?
   This is paint for outdoor furniture and it says to use xylol thinner to clean up brushes, but what about my hands and patio???

     congratlations you now have a black hammered rustoleum back patio that won't rust. As for your hands wash them. Use thinner first then soap

5. QUESTION:
   Mature pear tree leaves getting black on bottom and falling off.?
   It has been a cool, wet summer without much sun. The patio bricks and furniture underneath the tree are also turning black. What can I do to save the tree, as well as clean up the furniture and patio brick? I have tried oxygen bleach and scrubbing with a stiff bristle broom, but did not seem to make a big difference.

     You probably have sooty mold--keep the leaf litter cleaned up and spray with a copper fungicide.

   Seniors what do you have in your garden besides plants?
   I have a bird bath, a 3 foot tall very heavy St Francis, a black carp, out of my six musically tuned wind chimes, I have two left, the rest were stolen, and one chatter chime (bamboo), solar lights and of course patio furniture, faux wicker.

   Now that there are newer members, I am again asking what have you got in your garden, aka yard, and what has pride of place? For me it would be my St Francis. We have been together a very long time !

     I have a large fountain, a small ornamental pond with fish, bird bath, wind chimes and bells, and always a squirrel digging.
     The children used to like to come into my yard to feed the birds and the fish. That gave me an idea to make a larger garden and call it Creation Garden and have verses pertaining to creation along a path.
     My health has put that off but now that I am reminded I might have my grandchildren do the work.
     There are several heavy iron lanterns that hold candles. You want to be very aware where they are hanging in relationship to your head while working in the garden, something I don't seem to be good at.

7. QUESTION:
   What are the bugs in my backyard?
   The bugs look sort of like bee's but are completely black (no yellow whatsoever) . They are getting into the crevices of our furniture on our back patio and leave a yellow like dirt behind. We recently planted a honey suckle and we haven't noticed them until this year. If it helps we also have a small pond.

     They can be a carpenter. Bee or just a bumbble bee. Or some other bee varaiton but not a wasp you can tell what a wasp is very easy. That yellow dirt is pollen and yes they are eating nectar from the honey suckle.

8. QUESTION:
   My buildings roofers got the inside of my house filthy, HELP!!!!?
   They installed a new roof on my apartment building this week. In the process they destroyed my patio furniture and my sons bike with dirt falling from the roof onto my patio. Couldn't they have put up something to avoid that from happening. None the less I cleaned it all up. The next day it was the same so I figured I would have to wait till they were fully done to get my patio livable again. Today when I got home I noticed that in my kitchen where I have a brand new glass top stove they destroyed my stove with rocks and black dust that was seemingly falling down the vent pipe from the roof. Again shouldn't they have put something up to prevent this? I went into both of my bathrooms which also have vents connected to the roof and they are the same. They are covered in rocks and black dust.
   My question is what should I do? I rent here and I know my manager who thinks he owns the building and makes up his own rules isn't going to do anything much about it. Is it legal for them to get my house filthy and my patio ruined because they were putting up a new roof? I did everything in my power to avoid this. I closed all of my windows 24 hours a day even in this heat. I parked my car across the street so it wouldn't get dirty from it and yet they have gotten my kitchen, patio, and 2 bathrooms totally dirty to the point where I am going to have to move my stove to clean etc. And even when I clean it there is still black stuff in the cracks on the new stove making it look dirty. Please help. I believe they should clean this mess.

   • ANSWER:
     The roofers are fully responsible for all cleanup. Because you did that for them, that was positive reinforcement for them to be negligent.

     You should have talked with them and your landlord immediately. Then followed up with written communications demanding they pay you for any damages and cleanup. Then take pictures.

     You have a solid case if they refuse...but you need to document your claim. He said she said recollections aren't much help. Letters,pictures, and witnesses are lots of help.

     Hope you aren't too late. That was terrible what they did and you should not bear the brunt of their negligence.

   birds carrying spiders or a spider egg?!?
   The bird landed on the patio area and looked like it was vomiting-I was pretty far from it and i thought it was soil or sand but once it had finished and flew away within seconds the shape of what it left had changed - my 4 yr old went over and said they were money spiders - i assumed she was getting mixed up but I had a look myself and yep they really were tiny black spiders!
   I thought they had all ran off and wouldnt be back but today ive sat on the patio furniture and had tiny yellow bottemed spiders crawling on me ( shudder) and there was approx 30 just relaxing on a web under the table !!
   Any advice or opinions please, thanks.

   • ANSWER:
     Sounds like you had two different kinds of spiders- the little black ones and the yellow-bottomed ones. It's possible, I suppose, for the bird to have eaten an egg sac, then to vomit it up not too much later on. Birds do eat weird things.

     But the web under the table had been there and the little spiders had most likely hatched within the week.

      The best way to get rid of spiders is to prevent them from coming into your home. Trim all shrubs and hedges away from touching your house. If you have a brick home, treat all weep holes. Treat around all doors, windows, eves, cracks and crevices. Caulk all cracks and crevices, doors and windows. Purchase one of those duster type things and weep away all webs.

      One of the reasons you might have spiders is because spiders eat insects. Treat your home for other insects regularly and you should have less spiders. However, lady bug beetles also eat other insects. You could get some lady bugs but they can also become a nuisance.

      If you have lots of cardboard boxes around just get rid of them. Spiders love to hang around cardboard boxes. One of the reasons you may have spiders in the summertime is that spiders don't like heat. Which is why they come into your home during the summer months for the coolness. They also like to hang around bathrooms and kitchens because there is a water source nearby. I have heard that cats are wonderful for pest control.

      Personally, I don't believe in the plug-in ultrasonic devices. Some people say they work, some don't. If the government could prove they didn't work they probably would be pulled off the market. You know the government!

      If you are seeing web-spinning spiders don't be alarmed. They are beneficial to help you rid your home of insects and they are basically harmless. Beware of wood piles, boxes and sheds and especially dark areas full of clutter. They harbor brown recluse and black widow spiders. You don't want these. If cleaning these areas always wear gloves.

      Insect glue boards work great. Place these glue boards in areas that spiders may be found inside the home. Place them behind toilets, under sinks in bathrooms and kitchens. Behind refrigerators, washer and drier, hot water heater and also in attics. You may also place them inside your garage on each side of the garage door.

      One other thing. Once spiders are in your home, a good vacuum clearner with a hose attachement will work wonders.

      This should help you get rid of most of the spiders in and around your home. You will probably never rid you house of all spiders but at least you should be able to keep the population down somewhat.

11. QUESTION:
    Seniors what do you have in your yard that isnt a plant?
    What decorative, creative, interesting or whimsical little something do you have in your yard that isn't a plant ? Something you put there yourself.

    I have a statue of St Francis which is about 3 feet tall, and a black Asian carp that is about 1 1/2 feet long and stands about 8 inches tall.
    A sandstone plaque of some sort of face on the fence and 4 musically tuned wind chimes and one bamboo "chatter" windchime.

    This morning I found a ceramic rabbit by the carp. Two things come to mind, someone put it there as a nice surprise for me, or whoever stole my 6 hostas left it to taunt me. Its where the hostas were.

    I have the usual garden/patio furniture, mine is faux wicker, and an antique garden bench
    And apparently had a rooster with a sense of humour LMAO
    This summer I need to get another birdbath, mine also went missing
    We arent allowed to use fire pits anymore damn environmentalists, it pollutes the air. They are trying to ban wood burning fireplaces too
    I used to have half an acre and I was in heaven, even with the pool I had my own "park" ! Now I have a postage sized back yard, its enough for me, and the cat likes it.

12. QUESTION:
    Is my 8 month old lab "playing" or "fighting"?
    In March, my sister and I "adopted" litter mates born 12/25/07. Alone, they are GREAT dogs. When they get together, they play HARD. ... at least I **hope** they're playing...

    In between their ~5-10 min "naps" (which don't happen nearly enough), they grab the toy the other has, chase each other around the yard, and "attack" (?) each other with teeth bared. Occasionally, one will yelp, they'll stop for a breather, and then continue. All the while their tales are wagging.

    I spoke with our vet (they go to the same vet) about it, and she assured me that, since she hasn't had to sew either of them up yet, that they're just playing.

    Our hope is that if we get them together often, they won't get so excited to see each other. (Did I mention that they're soon-to-be 8 month old BLACK LABS?)

    Their aggression/play will temporarily stop if I pull them apart or squirt them with water.. But I'm getting tired of having to move my patio furniture out of the way for fear of them breaking my glass table tops.

    Will they outgrow this behavior? Or do I need Cesar Milan?

    P.S. We had his-and-hers-spaying/neutering in June thinking that that would calm them down... NOT!

      They are just playing. They are at about the same stage as a 5 year old boy. Imagine a couple of boys that age, in their superman pajamas with towels for capes, running through the house. That's where your puppies are right now, except they don't need the capes. They will grow out of it, somewhat. They ARE labs after all, and so they're both knuckleheads. Most labs I've seen act if they have only about 3 working brain cells, and those 3 don't talk to each other. But they're great dogs, and I'd love to have one. Enjoy yours!

      PS: Be careful with whatever you put out on coffee tables, etc in your house. When your two are grown, the dogs tails will be perfect for sweeping things off tables at that height.

13. QUESTION:
    How long can a 69 yr old alcoholic who doesn't eat live?
    I care for an old guy who has been drinking since his teens. Now that he is truly on his last leg he needs help. I just don't know how. I learned he would fall on his face routinely breaking furniture and tv's before I came. He is frail, decrepit, walks slow. He has creme color carpet which had dark brn/black diarrhea splotches at various stages of decomp all over his house too before I came (first thing on my agenda) but now all gone. I still have to monitor him closely. I begged him to wear depends and he finally gave in and it helps some. He drinks a 30 pack of bear and sips about 8 oz of vodka every 3 days, he smoke cigarettes out on the patio several times a day, but smokes smelly pot in the house all day every day. His routine never changes. He hasn't bathed in over a year or washed his hair (Yet he doesn't stink. Why?) Maybe cause he changes his clothes once in a while. Anyway his day starts at 6am with a few crude bouts of coughing and gaging and spitting. Followed by a bloody mary around 6:30am That's then followed by beer after beer after beer. He sits in his den looking at tv but never watches anything or cares too when asked. At noon I make him a milkshake in between beers. around 1pm he goes up to rest a while. Then its back to the beers sitting in the den and smoking pot. He can't converse past 3 rounds. He asks a polite question like How I am, I answer, I am doing just fine. Then he asks "what my plans are for the day. To which I answer, oh the same thing as yesterday only today I might read on the patio for awhile. That's when the sparks start to fly. He will focus in on the strangest things to get stirred up about. I really try to be polite and superficial, but even that is too much for him. He has zero patients and yells alot. I understand he obviously hates himself but does he have to hate me too cause I don't hold it against him?
    I have been here 3 months and he has never eaten a bite of food. He screams NO before I get the words out of my mouth. I learned the last caregiver made him milkshakes and he would drink them. I thought how pitiful is that? He said he hated her cooking. After 3 days of me urging him to try my cooking with no luck, I turned to the Milkshake thing too as a last resort. Except I fill it up with things like banana, egg, ensure and protein powder. He said I didn't know how to make milkshakes but I manage to get them in him everyday if humanly possible. He failed to fall on his face once on my watch. Lately he is napping more frequently and his gagging bouts seem longer and more often.

    I know a person can't go on like this forever. He refuses to leave the house and nobody calls except one son out of state once in a while and another who lives about a hour away calls. his other son and daughter have not called once in 3 mo.

    I don't have the support of his grown children all I have is the internet to know what to do. But if he won't cooperate cause he claims excuses, then I need to know what to do when the worse happens. back in 73 my Mother discovered her Father dead on the toilet with his head in the tub and blood all over his apt. He died of a massive rectal hemorrhage I heard. He was a hopeless drunk too, except he binged first for a while then paced hisself then would ride the wagon for a while. Then the pattern would repeat. It was on a binge he died. I have never seen this guy here binge. My theory is he won't eat cause he might descend from his high long enough to digest some food? I can't find much info online that relates to my circumstance. Can someone shed some light? I really want to know what the signs are to look for when he begins to approach death's door? I need advise.

    Can we get out of this lease without notice?
    We live in a townhouse that we rent . We have been living here for almost 3 years now but now everything is bad. Dishwasher isnt working landlord wont fix it , everytime it snows it gets in our home trought the front door , i showed it to them and they said that it isnt that there is a gap between the wall and the front door but it is from us opening the door each time someone comes in or go out ( that isnt true) . And the snow always gets in our garage as well . They won't do anything either.There is a huge gap between the patio door and the wall as well ,same for the garage door that take you to the kitchen . You just need to stand there for a second and you would be able to tell how many degrees it is outside. The master bedroom window wall has huge black stains around it . I called them to come see it . He came and said it would be back, it is been 3 weeks . My kids bedroom wall has a huge split in it, the wall is craking and pieces are falling off ( he tried to explain by saying that it is due to weather ,it is making the wall rise and other crap ) this was last winter and they said they would fix in the summer . that summer was the one that just passed. nothing happened thought i was asking for it until i got tired . A month ago there was this huge spot in our living room . Little did we know it was the kitchen sink doing that . There were black spots all over the carpet and out curio was ruined because of this .I had to clean that myself and we got no deductions for our furniture that was ruined due to that water.I just saw the mold again in another spot in our bedroom yet nothing is being done .
    We arent on a lease anymore . We are on a month to month but we require 60 days notice to move. Quite frankly i am tired of calling them each time to come fix something and they dont . Can i move without the 60 day notice? We pay 00 a month for this 2br townhome .
    I live in Minnesota and the winter aint no joke here . Oh when the lanlord saw the mold he told us to have our youngest baby sleep with her sister in the meantime . HUNH!

      Give them your 60 day notice in writing today and grin and bear the next two months..In order to just walk -you would need someone from the building dept. to determine the property uninhabitable-then the owner will get time to fix it--by the time all this goes on you will be back to giving a new 60 day notice.

    K so here's my dream and i need some info about it.
    First here's some background info on me:
    I'm 13

    Sorry that's all the info i'm giving out, so anyways-
    first i'm in my first dream and nothing special about it but in the early morning i wake up.
    I go back to sleep and I'm in the bathroom in front of a large mirror and, for fun, I'm making myself look like the main character of a video game hair, clothes and sword). Then all of a sudden I sort of see a screen but it's not really. It was black with dark blue smudges and there was a message that said "The dark hour is coming." and that I should prepare for it. So I was supposed to mail everything to myself in the real world. "That would never work." I said to myself, and woke up from my dream to be in another dream but didn't know it at the time.
    I was just getting of the city transit bus and it was starting to get dark out. It was right after school and I was doing my usual thing. But it got darker and I don't remember exactly how it happened but then there was acid/lava puddles on the ground and I knew my dream had come true. So I tried to run home but then my foot dipped into the acid/lava and it burned (not actually burned but felt like it. I was with my friend now and we were running to my house but then I noticed a guy with a shotgun shooting several zombies. I knew it would be safer with a guy carrying a weapon than being alone with nothing. So we joined him and he finished off the few zombies coming but there were more so we ran inside a house. (This kind of sounds like a short story huh?) We left him to guard the front while we hide in the backyard on the patio. Bad move, a couple zombies showed up and pushed my way back into the house. The zombies were breaking in so we had to run elsewhere. It looks like the guy already left. We opened the front door, it was wooden and breaking, and slammed it into the front zombie and ran right. There were a few zombies that way and we ran past them, there was one crawling but it was actually the guy with the shotgun getting eaten alive. It was now snowy and we were by a parking lot with a fence. I saw the guy and he passed me the shotgun and I blasted away the zombies. As we ran on top of the snow covered cars. We were out of the parking lot and needed shelter so i thought we should head to my house. I had 25 rounds left and we were at the corner of near my house. We ran through the park blasting all the zombies that came near us. We eventually made it to my house and entered through the back. I told my friend he should hide upstairs. I needed to board up and block all entrances and windows and find a new gun because I was out of ammo. I searched a drawer because I figured that's where my family keeps a gun just in case and found a handgun. I took another look through the back door (it's in the same room and it's made of glass) and looked for some furniture that i could block it with. I figure a wooden bench with a back rest was good enough. However before I could continue my dream I woke up.

    Trying to remember the name of this Barbie PC game?
    When I was younger, in about 1994-1997 I remember playing this Barbie PC game. You could explore Barbie's house, change the furniture and carpet in some rooms, dress barbie up for her modeling shoot, dress up her horse and change the color of her car. You could also fill in the blanks about your favorite stuff in this notebook out on her patio and then Barbie would mail you a letter replying to you. There was also a bubble popping mini-game and a matching game you could play. Does anyone remember the title of this game? The cd was all hot pink with black letters.

      This is a 3 pack of Barbie games. One is a beauty styler and another is a makeover program. They are from the 90's. I wonder if one of these is correct.

      The dark hour is the hour when you will no longer be able to change from the dark side o the light. he light being a choice to engage with God instead of Zombies. Zombies is not life. Life , especially eternal life comes from God and being open to His presence. His presence is blocked by zombies which represent all your current activities. Consider the scripture: "Be still and know that I am God.' God loves you and wants a relationship with you. Get closer to Him and he will get closer to you. Seek Him and you will find Him.
