using untreated pine for an aquarium canopy?

55 gallon tank-stand is 2x4's with stain recently applied-saltwater and live on beach also!! in hawaii..pros and cons i suppose?my other tank,canopy and stand is rosewood purchased at a lfs.thanks

Pine tends to rot and grow mold when wet or moist. You should either use redwood or cedar - if you want to use wood.
