Top Reasons Why You Would Benefit From Having A Bay Window Canopy
There are several advantages to having a bay window canopy fitted, one of which is that the value of your home will almost certainly rise quite out of proportion. Many people don't realize just how much difference a few fairly simple and affordable things can do to the value of your home. Having bay window canopies adds a good deal of visual appeal, and will certainly make your house stand out from the crowd. In the very competitive housing market at the moment, it's little things like this that can go a long way toward getting your property looked at and sold.
But there are many advantages beyond simply adding value to your home, and even if you are not considering selling your property, or at least not yet, there are many good reasons for having a bay window canopy fitted. Considering not only how affordable they are, but also how quick and easy they are to have fitted, bay window canopies can easily make a huge difference to the visual appeal of your home, and can be fitted in less time than it would take to mow the lawn.
One of the benefits of PVC or GRP window canopies is that they are manufactured off site. That means that once the measurements have been taken the actual canopy is assembled in a factory. The reason that it isn't just ordered from a large warehouse is that almost every bay window canopy is made to order. It has to be done this way because so many individual features or unique aspects of the property and the window need to be taken into consideration, it's rarely the case that any two windows are exactly identical.
It's important to make sure that your bay window canopy fits well, and is secure. If there is any kind of gap then water will simply seep in, and this isn't what you'll be looking for. The major benefit of PVC is that it is entirely waterproof, and so a well fitted canopy will keep almost a hundred percent of the water from running down your windows and doors.
When it rains, there can be three major problems with windows and doors. The first is the sheer noise the rain can sometimes make. If you're inside trying to chat, watch television, work, read a book or get to sleep, the sound of rain or sleet lashing against the window can be quite frustrating. There's little you can do at the time, but having a protective canopy above your window bay can reduce this noise quite considerably.
The second thing you'll notice is that after it rains your windows look particularly dirty. This is especially true in cities or built up areas, or if you live nearby factories or an industrial area. The problem is that when it rains, dust and particles in the air tend to become absorbed into the water droplets, and then left on your window pane. The dust and dirt sticks, and long after the rain has either evaporated or run off over the sill, the grime and grease builds up creating quite a disturbingly thick layer of dirt.
Having a canopy above your window will divert the rain from your window pane, and help keep them clean and clear for much longer. It's also worth bearing in mind that canopies of a certain size can offer a good deal of protection and shelter if fitted above doors. Having to stand at the front door with no protection whilst you look for your keys is no fun. It's surprising just how much difference even a small canopy can make. If you have a bay window canopy above your window, then even if it is raining you may well be able to open your windows slightly.
This is great, because if it's been raining for ages and you've had to have all of your windows and doors tightly shut, the air inside can quickly become musty and stale. Having a canopy to keep the rain off the windows can allow you the privilege of opening the windows and letting in fresh air without risking the rain coming in too.
Whether you choose a bay window canopy to add value to your house, to add visual appeal and individuality of style to your house, or to afford protection and shelter for window and doors, there's no doubt that they represent terrific value for money, with minimal hassle or installation time.

Canopy Stand Q&A
what are aquarium canopy necessities?
i have a 125 g tank that holds a turtle and a few fish.. i made a custom stand for. now i want to make the canopy for it. i will have doors on the front. and i will be using dome lights which i will put on top so there will be holes cut. besides the cutouts for the chords and filter tube i dont know what else to ad. i was told to make holes for air circulation . then i saw some people with fans. i also saw some tanks with plexiglass on top to block the moisture. are those necessities.
if i need a fan do i need to have it on 24/7. (my lights are on a 10/14 rotation)
do i cut the plexiglass to fit on top of the tank or do i keep it up high a bit. is it really necessary?
let me know what you think and how you would map it out. my uvb basking light will be in 1 corner. pipes and wires in another. regular uva bulb in the middle.

I'm not very familiar with aquariums, but the position is that in this way?
I have a new 55 gallon aquarium all glass. I bought it with a wooden stand and cover. Ok, question ... support is basically a closet. For a 55 gallon full of water, which will be very heavy. This is a design safe to leave the stand completely hollow? The only thing supporting the tank bottom is all the perimiter. Could not the only fund collapse?
You must be standing very well, as Soop said, most stores will not sell a stand that would not work for the tank. Let me give some examples here oh, what you are looking from a prespecitve engineering. I asked a question in the engineering and work with three solar engineers who are certified in the analysis structural and my responses he received were exceptional and white. The first look at the weight of the water itself. Water weighs 8.333 pounds per gallon. With more than 55 times 457 pounds or less worth of water, plus the weight of the tank, they estimate that in about another 75 pounds. Alltogeather Thus, the force exerted on the support surface is 525 pounds, spread over an area of four feet. Has approximately 10 to 11 pounds per square inch of pressure in the stand, which should not be too stressful on the surface. Same weight distrubuted over a second floor if earlier, and not even require that the place near a wall load. His position should be very well and surprised me if it collapsed. You have nothing to worry about the collapse of the stand or on the floor. If you really are not convinced, I put a 180 gallon tank, weight is calculated on the ground of 2250 pounds, and one-half inch wood over 6 '3 "is like less than 20 pounds per square inch on the floor and I'm in an apartment upstairs. Is not collapse had nothing on me yet:) If you need additional help you can get better answers in cycling.com without fish or just use the link in my profile. JV
