Don’t forget too that most of these can use natural gas as an alternative heating option.

Models that are not portable are safe to use too. Weighted bases will not let the unit tip over, even if it’s not mounted to a permanent concrete or wood foundation. Remember, you can only use this type of propane patio heater if you have installed a flex type connection to your propane tank supply. This connection can be purchased separately for the free standing units. If you want to permanently mount it, you’ll need to buy the ground plate, and have a pipe connection to the tanks for propane or natural gas.

Prices for the infrared heating option might be a little on the high side, it’s definitely worth it in the long run. You’ll be able to stay out and enjoy your late summers, and stay warm with infrared heat. You stay warmer because the plate above the heat of infrared is designed so that warmth is directed downward over a large area, even if it’s windy. However, a drawback is that it’s safe to use this type of propane patio heater only in winds that are approved by the manufactures guidelines.

Propane is a good energy source for homeowners because it’s widely available in most areas of the U.S., and it’s environmentally friendly too. Take a chance and use infrared heat on the newly designed propane patio heater, and stay a little longer outside to welcome the beauty of fall.
