How I can get a lab to stay out of the flowerbeds in the garden?

We have a laboratory that is a dog inside except when we go on vacation. During the holidays the neighbor is feeding them in the backyard. The backyard is small and mostly concrete. The dog gets into the flower beds because they are the best place for them to give. We bought a pool and ez up canopy, none of which seemed to work at all. Any other ideas would be helpful
