Incidentally, if you are going to try to ground the steel frames as the guy above me suggested, attach a copper wire (like speaker cord) from the metal frame to any grounded metal object. The building should have steal beams in the ceiling, but a better ground would be the building’s own electrical ground (which can be found as a bare copper wire inside of any light or electrical fixture – get an electrician to do this). The metal housing of the big spot lights that you use should already be grounded when they were initially wired, so just attach one end of the speaker wire to the outside of it (but once again I would get an electrician to do this, both for safety reasons, and to avoid violating any building codes).

Grounding the metal frame won’t completely get rid of the static unless you make the fabric more conductive as well, so you will still need to spray them down with [anti-static cling] fabric softener.
