The Many Uses of Tarps for the Housewife

Did you ever find yourself looking for something to cover the kid’s sand box to keep the animals out of it? If your children have a sand box that does not have a cover, think about using a tarp. They are ideal for keeping stray animals out of the place where your children play. They are durable enough to make a great cover and most have riveted holes so you can tie them down. They can protect your children’s play area and keep wind and rain from scattering the sand.

Tarps are handy for covering just about anything that you want to keep dry or protected from the sun. Due to the fact that they come in an array of sizes, you will be sure to find one that is just right for the job. Do you have firewood that you want to keep dry? How about covering your boat for the winter with a heavy duty, waterproof tarp?

Anything besides a tarp to cover a treadmill outdoors?

I have a treadmill you need to keep the backyard as they have no space inside. I have the canvas right now, but is too noisy and is used only in the morning and evening. Is there an alternative cover that protects against UV rays, rain, etc.

Without knowing exactly what type of machine you want to cover, it is difficult to be more specific but you can check out the winter / weather protector covers for patio furniture and various garden. For example, a deck or turn table might work for the team ... These protect from rain, UV rays, etc. You can find them at your local home and garden centers as Menards, Home Depot and the like.

How to Repair a winter pool cover torn from an above ground pool?

I buy the lid / plastic cover for my 21 ft above ground pool last year, which began during the winter. There are about a foot two tears along a seam in the canvas. Any ideas on how to fix this so I can not tear again? Thanks

Most pool supply stores have a winter cover tape specifically for this purpose (which will remain flexible and in better shape tape over it). Make sure the cover is clean and dry on both sides, and use of tape on both sides. Is there any warranty on the cover? Most of it covers guaranteed for at least one full year against seam splitting and things of that nature. It will usually be prorated thereafter. Normally you get a fight if the rings are pushed: they say it was from the cover is placed incorrectly. (The cover is supposed to rest on the water surface, are not designed to withstand the weight of water on top of it.)
