Modern Contemporary White Interior Design

There's plenty to love about using white for interior design. White isn't simply an absence of colour. White creates an image of elegance, brightness and expansiveness. It also symbolises purity, goodness and lightness of being. White is definitely far from boring, but it does involve a number of interior design techniques in order to fuse in a modern contemporary look. Here are some pointers on how to use white as part of your home décor without emiting a sterile hospital-like vibe.

First of all, although we seem to always think of white as one particular shade, the truth is that choosing the right shade of white is not so, well, black and white. There are actually many different tones of white and the colours that would match these white tones would be remarkably different. For instance, blue-tinted white will look jarring against a red sofa. To incorporate warmth in your interior design, opt for whites that have hints of yellow, like ivory, beige and cream. Cool hues look best with brighter whites.

Having white as the theme for your furniture is extremely trendy, as you can see from flipping through interior design magazines. White furniture against white background will give you the sensation of a very modern contemporary empty room, making the room appear bigger than it really is.

White is also very versatile. Depending on how you accessorise the rest of your room, you can create a minimalist, romantic, classic or even dramatic feel. For example, black and white photographs would add a touch of timeless romanticism to the space. Bring in a red bowl and watch how it attracts attention and changes the mood of the entire interior design.

Go natural. By incorporating wood, wicker or bamboo, you can take the edge off the starkness and create a beautiful natural look while still maintaining the peaceful and bright overall effect of a modern contemporary white theme.

Play around with texture to add depth to the whiteness. Aim for a nice contrast between some smooth and glossy surfaces, and some furry, fluffy or soft textures. From lacy white curtains on the windows, to fluffy white cushions on the sofa and furry white rugs to rest your feet – isn't that the kind of interior design that makes you feel like spending lazy weekends at home?

Furry Texture Q&A

Hairy insects bit like a caterpillar?

Is so stupid !?!?! I had to get rid of a look at my room. Are about one cm in length .. and about 75% of Furr is not a body / gray texture type dust. Then, a little long hair is not out one end and then a black spot that looks like to a head .. and moves a bit like a caterpillar. WHAT IS IT!?! It is really horrible, I hate insects. And remember to get rid of a few months ago and no idea what era. Are dust mites or something? I live in England so the weather is mild. And it's winter so it's pretty cold? I have no idea i looked at the pictures Google in the larvae of beetles and they do not actually appear to do so, but much smaller furry!?

Hmmmm .... could be a variety of caterpillar or worm-inch ... Where do you live? what kind of weather? could also be a variety of beetle larvae. which are quite scary looking. kind of bad time of year for those (I thought) if you live in the northern hemisphere ... but understandable if you are in the south. what is described is definitely not a Dust mites are microscopic like .. check the link http://sk1.yt-thm-a01.yimg.com/image/7aadee978c57b3f8

Question to those who know a lot about Siberian Huskies.?

I recently bought two huskies. I have read everywhere they are short-haired. I have one white and one black one. The white one is short-hair, but the black ones coat is a different texture, more furry. They are brothers. Then I saw this:

Does that mean the husky will look like that when they grow up? Can someone find me a picture of a puppy that has a wooly coat when it grew up? Here is a video I have of the puppies.

Note: They are 100% Siberian Huskies. They are NOT mixes. So please, don't comment on that as other people did to the other questions I had about the dogs.

There is a such thing as a "wooly" Siberian, although a reputable breeder would not try to continue the trait. There is nothing wrong with the dog, the only drawback is the extra hair and he cannot be shown. Big deal. My first siberian had longer guard hairs, although he was not a wooly, and my current siberian has a very short coat compared to him. Enjoy your dogs for who they are not how long their hair is. And no, your pup is not blowing his coat, he's not old enough yet, but when spring rolls around, be prepared b/c they will both be shedding like crazy. Good Luck!!
