Buyers Guide: Patio-n- Outdoor Furniture
If your patio is in need of some sprucing up, outdoor patio furniture adds not only style but also functionality to your outdoor space. During the summer months, your patio can become another room of your house and it is important o find the best material, style and function for your patio furniture. Beautiful patio furniture enhances a home’s unique ambience. When choosing the patio furniture for your home, consider several questions. First how do you want to use your furniture? A small round table and a chair is a perfect place to have a drink. A large dining set while a single rocking chair will be a perfect accent for small porch.
Material
Patio furniture can be made out of everything from plastic to expensive teak. Before you decide which material to use, it is important to consider your usual climate, the amount of rainfall and the winds that are common in your area. Wooden patio furniture will not do well in rainy season as PVC unless it is properly treated with sealant. Wrought iron patio furniture is long lasting but it is most expensive. In areas that are dry and not very windy, wicker is a fantastic material. Unlike it‘s counterparts, it can be brought indoors and used all year round, depending on your personal style and existing décor. It is much easier to move and very well suited for small places.
Storage
Storing your patio furniture in the off-season is another important consideration. If you purchase a large patio set, make sure you have the space in your garage, storage shed or basement to store all of the pieces in the winter. You can purchase coverings that will help protect your patio furniture in winter but it will last longer if it is completely removed from winter elements. Weight is another important factor when it comes to storage. Will you be able to easily move all of the pieces on your own, or will you need the help of several friends? Try to find materials that are durable but lightweight if you have trouble moving heavy furniture. Again outdoor storage covers may work for you in this situation.
Grasses
Sturdy grasses are also popular material in home furnishings, especially in tropical regions, and they add warm neutral colors to the setting. Artisans have created furniture, rugs, patio tables and more from hard stems and pliable twigs for centuries. Furniture of these materials must be kept in a well ventilated area to dry out if it gets wet. Also, this furniture seems to be light weight so consider it for an area sheltered for high winds.

Patio Cover Outdoor Q&A
Could I use the slate leftover from a pool table for an outdoor patio?
I know this is sacrilege to a pool player, but I've been offered the three slabs of slate from an old pool table for FREE, and the person suggested I could use them as pavers for a patio. (I know there are pocket holes, etc. and I'm figuring out ways to cover them) My question is, will the slate hold up outdoors, or is it the porous kind that will crumble when exposed to rain?
yes u can use it for patio but not outdoor !
this is how my next question look?
Steve was building a hot tub with a 2' patio around it. how much outdoor carpet did he need to buy to cover the patio area? (note: you will need to find the area of the larger rectangle, and then subtract the area of the smaller rectangle!)
Need the dimensions of the hot tub.
