Amish Gliders Or Rocking Chairs - Which Do You Pick?
Gliders and rocking chairs conjure up images of rest and relaxation, of lazy afternoons and good books; of warm cosseting of a small baby and the enjoyable little nap. Whether for the indoors or for the outdoors, Amish gliders and Amish rocking chairs have long offered people a cozy little nook all their own, to enjoy all these and many other pleasures. So when one is looking to get that one special seat that they can call their very own; a veritable haven of comfort and relaxation, one need look no further than the Amish designs.
What is the difference between a Rocking Chair and a Glider? The rocking chair has curved slats which the chair is based on, which tilt backward and forward to give you that lovely rocking sensation. A glider on the other hand sits flat to the ground and moves backward and forward on its own track. The movement offered by a rocking chair tips you forward and down slightly and backward and up a bit; whereas the movement of a glider is flat and parallel to the floor. Many find the rocking chair more enjoyable while others find that they fear tipping over (though this is really not something that happens much). So depending upon the sort of movement you like and find more restful, you can pick from a wide range of designs and varieties of both Amish rocking chairs as well as Amish gliders.
Rocking Chair / Glider for the outdoors: The experience of sitting on your porch, patio or deck is immeasurably improved by your choice of seating. Amish outdoor furniture offers many options, the most popular among them being rockers and gliders. Imagine a warm afternoon with cool lemonade or a cold one with hot coffee and a good book… the precious moments that you spend in your very own special chair will be some of your most treasured ‘me' time.
Rocking Chair / Glider for the nursery: A glider or rocking chair for the nursery means that you have that ideal place to settle down and snuggle with your little bundle of joy; also an ideal place that you can rock your baby peacefully to sleep. It is well known that a rocking motion is very soothing for a small baby and will easily and serenely get the baby to sleep. It is also less tiring and taxing for the parents if they have a comfortable place to settle down while they sing their baby a lullaby or read to them from their favorite baby book.
Rocking Chair / Glider for the living room/den: Watching the TV, or indulging in your favorite hobby; be it knitting, reading or anything else, or just for relaxing and listening to some really good music, the experience can be highly enhanced when one has that one favorite chair to settle down in, which offers succor and comfort like nothing else.
So pick the rocker or glider of your choice; Amish rocking chairs and Amish gliders have designs and looks to suit pretty much any requirement.

I'm looking for a few different designs.....if you happen to have a direct link to any of these please share. I'm having trouble finding what I want.
*Lake scene with mountains...(think relaxing)
*Country home with porch/rocking chairs/field of flowers...or anything similar (when I say country home I'm not talking like Beverly Hillbillies...more like in the movie The Notebook...the big house he fixes up in the end)
*old Victorian mansions

Get answers from millions of real people.?
I have recently, June, found the plant Ixora, and am in love with it. I got the bright orange, and it is really doing well. In fact bought two more bigger ones, I have a porch garden, and they are a real treat. But, my question, the oldest one is not producing flowers now, it was going wild, and now has stopped, everything else seems to be o.k. leaves look good, etc, but wonder, after reading info on it, is it because I am not giving it acid? Also, will systemic hurt it, I have had something on some of my plants, and been using that. Is that a problem? Thanks for any in-put. I am in Round Rock, Tx, and know, probably won't make it thru Jan, but will try, and my oh my, am I enjoying them now, even tho it is so very hot, and I am inside, and they are outside. But can see them from my favorite chair. Thanks for any input. Take care. Annie.
Your in Round Rock! Did you buy them at Round Rock Gardens? lol I probably delivered those, I work for a wholesale grower in Corpus and we sell to a bunch of nurseries in the Austin area. Try a general fertilizer like miracle grow to encourage them to bloom. Also you could try clipping them back gently. And unfortunately your right they might not survive the hill country freezes, but anything is possible. Systemic should be fine if you don't overdo it.
P.S. we also sell Nora Grant Pink, Maui yellow, and Maui orange and yellow mix, look for them next spring. With an OsoGrowers label.
